Thank you for Helping Talaya
A note from Talaya's mother from her webblog http://caringbridge.org/visit/talaya

I am now sitting in Sydney, with Talaya sleeping soundly and getting ready for the first 'real' hospital day tomorrow. Tomorrow afternoon Talaya will go for her MRI and pre-admission. Wednesday she will be admitted and prepped at 6-30am for her operation. And for the first time in over a year we have a real chance of removing her tumour. There will never be words that can express how I feel to those people who have helped us to get to this point but I have adapted this passage from Dr Wayne Dwyer as my starting point......There is a place deep within us that wants to know that your life has made a difference, that you have left this place, this planet that you live on, better than when you arrived.
Because of you and your actions, my daughter's life and mine and all of her family's, has been profoundly touched because of your existence.
It is not about age or about finding yourself. Whoever you are, at whatever age you are, you are only a thought away from changing your life. And because of your thoughts and then actions, you have changed the course of someone else's life.
Words can never do justice to the amount of gratitude in my heart.
Thankyou.Amanda
Hi my name is Talaya Close, when I was six I found out I had a brain tumour.
The doctors told my mum and dad that I would be lucky to live to my 7th birthday, but I'm still here and very soon I will be 8.
I have been told that my tumour is inoperable and that I should have chemotherapy to give me the chance of living to 18.
Dr Charlie Teo who is one of only three doctors in the world that specialise in the total removal of my rare tumour has said that we can operate, but that we only have a small window of time before this tumour becomes unstoppable.
I have decided that I want this surgery and I am booked in just after my 8th Birthday, in August. I think that this is my only chance of defeating it and living to and beyond 18.
The cost of the operation is a minimum of $50,000. My mum and dad urgently need help to fund this surgery.
Please help me. Simply click on the DONATE NOW to give what you can, every little bit helps.
All money collected will be used to fund my life saving operation. Or make a donation at the Ballina Commonwealth Bank or send a cheque to Help Talaya Appeal, PO Box 313, Ballina, NSW, 2478.
Thank you,
Talaya
P.S – If you let me know your address I can write you a thank you note personally.
